Vivian Chow (1992 – Tulips in August)

Probably every street in the UK has one, or 2, or even more

And its the nation’s favourite takeaways

Be it a Chicken Balti with Naan, a Meat-Feast 16″ Pizza or a Sweet n Sour Chicken in Batter with chips

As this month is the Chinese New Year (28th January)

Been over 2 decades since I last venture into Birmingham’s Chinatown

And WOW – why has it been over 2 decades?

Lunch: Chung Ying (Wrottesley Street) – serving only the freshest and most delicious Dim Sums!

Snack: Wah Kee Bakery (Ladywell Walk) – Catch them at the right time, and we were tucking into freshly baked Egg Custard Tarts right out of the oven!

Dinner: Ken Ho (Hurst Street) – packed with Chinese customers, serving delicious Cantonese dishes including a giant portion of Salt n Pepper Squids and much more and topped with rice served in cute wooden tubs!

Today is the day I remembered watching Vivian Chow and Sean Lau (Lau Ching-Wan) in the 1992 TVB TV Special – Tulips in August
